मक्का आधारित फसल प्रणाली में संरक्षण कृषि के तहत नाइट्रोजन प्रबंधन

Title of project: Nitrogen Management under Conservation Agriculture in Maize Based Cropping System
Project funding: Institute
Total approved cost of the project: Rs. 76.72 lakh

Objective:

  1. To study the effect of slow release nitrogen fertilizers on crop/s performance under conservation agriculture in maize based cropping systems.
  2. To work out the use-efficiency of various resources such as nutrients, water, energy under conservation agriculture and nitrogen management practices.
  3. To find out changes in physico-chemical properties of soils as affected by nitrogen, tillage and residue management practices.
  4. To work out the economics of slow release N fertilizer under conservation agriculture in maize systems

Project team: Drs. S. L. Jat, Aditya Kumar Singh, C. M. Parihar, Ashok Kumar

Major achievements: –

  • The application of NCU at recommended rate (150 kg N/ha) produced significantly higher maize grain yield (7.0 %); NCU @ 120 kg N/ha resulted significantly higher wheat grain yield (12.3%) and NCU @ 90 kg N/ha resulted significantly higher mustard seed yield (2.4%) than the yield obtained with ordinary urea on a coarse-textured sandy loam soil (Field Crops Research, 2019, Science of the Total Environment 664 (2019): 659-668, Soil and Tillage Research, 2019, 191).
  • The higher grain yield with the application of NCU over ordinary urea was accompanied by spectacular increase in nitrogen use efficiencies.
