The headquarter of the Indian Institute of Maize Research has a state of the art Coordinating Unit, the first one in the country for evaluation and analysis of the vast data pool generated through multi-location and multidisciplinary testing infrastructure in the country. Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) facility provides strong support to the scientists in the coordinating unit and for dissemination of information to the project centers. The headquarter also has added facilities of a well-equipped plant physiology, pathology, entomology, biotechnology and grain quality laboratory. The Directorate has state of the art N L Dhawan Committee room with modern ambience and audio-visual aids. An off-season nursery has been developed in Hyderabad to strengthen facilities for the program as a whole. Hot spot facilities have been created at Dhaula Kuan, Mandya and Nagenahalli for screening of breeding materials against major diseases of the crop. There is also a seed production and seed research centre at Begusarai in Bihar for fast multiplication of testing materials and hybrids.
