Title of project: Development of precision conservation agriculture practices in cereal-based system in Indo-Gangetic Plains.
Objective:
- To study the effect of different precision conservation agriculture practices (nutrient and tillage) on productivity of maize-wheat-mungbean and rice-wheat-mungbean system, and
- To assess the impact of precision conservation agriculture practices (nutrient and tillage) on soil physical, chemical and biological properties, and
- To work out the economic profitability and input use efficiency for maize-wheat-mungbean crop rotation under different precision conservation agriculture practices (nutrient and tillage).
- Assessment of organic maize cultivation vis a vis Normal cultivation
Project team: Dr. A. K. Singh (PI), Dr. S. L. Jat (Co-PI), Mr Deep Mohan Mahala (Co-PI), Mrs Shanti Bamboriya (Co-PI), Dr Mahesh Kumar (Co-PI)
Major achievements
- After completion of two years highest system productivity, net return and B:C ratio was found with Green seeker (GS) based N application in maize based cropping system.
- There is saving of about 82% water in Maize-wheat as compared to Rice-wheat cropping system.
