Area of interest

  1. Diversity analysis of maydis leaf blight pathogen of maize.
  2. Screening to identify elite resistant maize germplasm lines against major maize diseases.

Most significant achievements (in last five years)

  • Three single cross maize hybrids (DMRH 1305, IMHB 1532 and IMHB 1539) released & notified vide Gazette Notification Details: S.O. 6318(E) -S.N.40, -S.N.41 and, -S.N.42 Dated 26th December, 2018 (Association as Pathologist)
  • Developed web enabled forecasting model for banded leaf and sheath blight of maize in 2019.
  • Development of Sick plots of charcoal rot and banded leaf sheath blight pathogens for mass screening of germplasm.
  • Development of Plant Pathology Research Block at ICAR-IIMR, Ladhowal Farm.
  • Development of Plant Pathology Research Laboratory at ICAR-IIMR, PAU Campus, Ludhiana.
